Wrexham boss Parkinson given lift by Doyle comeback

The centre-back was ever-present this season but he sustained a groin problem during the international break and missed Saturday's 1-1 draw away to Derby County.

Although another seven players were absent against West Brom through injury, the Reds' boss was pleased to have Doyle back.

"It was a blow for us at the weekend when we lost Callum but he had the weekend with our physios and they worked so hard with him to get him ready," he said.

"He trained some of the session on Monday, he's a determined player and character, and he wanted to be out there."

Wrexham are back at The Racecourse on Saturday when bottom of the table Preston North End are the visitors but it might be too soon for Max Cleworth, George Thomason, Nathan Broadhead, Libby Cacace, Ben Sheaf, Matty James and Josh Windass who missed the midweek loss.
