Liam Rosenior promises to expose Chelsea in bombshell interview

Liam Rosenior has suggested there is a lot more to his disastrous spell at Chelsea than fans know, and he has promised to reveal the truth when the time is right.

The Englishman lasted just four months at Stamford Bridge after replacing Enzo Maresca in January, with his reign ending in April following a miserable run of results.

However, while Rosenior has admitted that managing Chelsea was both the best and hardest experience of his life, it is his comments about what happened behind the scenes that should raise eyebrows.

The former Blues boss has now hinted that he has a story to tell, and it sounds like Chelsea will not come out of it looking good.

Liam Rosenior promises to reveal what really happened at Chelsea

Speaking to So Foot, via The Standard, Rosenior opened up about his brief spell in charge of Chelsea and admitted that there were aspects of his time at the club that left him with a bitter taste.

"I don't want to go into details now; I'll talk about it one day, when the time is right," he explained.

"But in a country where tolerance is an important value, what happened there has nothing to do with football."

Rosenior was also keen to address the media attention he received during his time in west London. He recalled how his five-game winning run was followed by intense scrutiny, with everything from his touchline instructions to his clothing and manner of speaking becoming a talking point.

He specifically mentioned the criticism he received for writing instructions on a piece of paper for Alejandro Garnacho during Chelsea's defeat to Paris Saint-Germain, when the Blues were down to 10 men.

"I'm not a joke!" he insisted, before repeating that one day he would explain what really happened.

After losing his second match against Arsenal, he led the team to five consecutive victories, including an impressive Champions League win away at Napoli.

But results deteriorated dramatically in March, with Chelsea suffering seven defeats in eight matches before his dismissal after 23 games in charge.

Chelsea may not want Rosenior to tell his side of the story

There is clearly more to this than a manager being unhappy about how his results were received.

Rosenior has not explained what happened, so it would be unfair to jump to conclusions about the circumstances. However, his suggestion that the situation had nothing to do with football is certainly concerning.

Chelsea's decision to appoint him in January was already a major gamble, and his departure just four months later made it look like another chaotic chapter in the club's recent history.

The five consecutive victories showed that Rosenior was at least capable of getting a response from the players. Yet the collapse that followed meant he never had the opportunity to establish himself properly.

He is now enjoying a fresh start at Paris FC, who sit fourth in Ligue 1, and appears to be in a much happier place.

Perhaps he will eventually explain exactly what happened during his time at Stamford Bridge. Until then, Chelsea fans are left wondering what their former manager is keeping to himself.
