Prior to the Pittsburgh Steelers blowout win over the Cleveland Browns, Cleveland defensive end Jared Verse decided to throw out some trash talk at Pittsburgh. Verse and the rest of the Browns were riding high after pulling out a narrow win over the Steelers earlier in the season. But when the dust settled on Sunday, the Steelers came away with a 27-6 win, Verse dressed as the Invisible Man for Halloween but he chose to double down on his comments.
Verse insisted that he stands by everything he said earlier in the week. If his hope was to use it to motivate his teammates, it backfield and instead fired up the Steelers who absolutely dominated the Browns on both sides of the football. Verse finished the game with one assisted tackle and still has yet to notch a sack since joining the team via trade from the Rams.
In other news, the Steelers sacked Browns quarterback Deshaun Watson eight times, including 2.0 sacks by T.J. Watt and 1.5 sacks from Cam Heyward, whom Verse said he wasn't worried about. Before the game, Verse walked through Heyward's pregame warm-up, presumably as some form of intimidation but none of what makes Heyward special rubbed off on Verse.
