Inside how the Seahawks defense dominated the Chiefs in Week 7

The Seattle Seahawks played complimentary football throughout Sunday's dominant 20-3 victory over the Kansas City Chiefs. The defense especially dominated on primetime in Week 7. It was an elite effort from Mike Macdonald's unit.

The previously 5-0 Chiefs failed to score a touchdown. Per NFL research, that's the first time the Patrick Mahomes-led Chiefs did not reach the end zone in 153 career starts for the MVP-winning quarterback. That includes postseason appearances.

Former Seahawks running back Kenneth Walker has been excellent for the Chiefs this season. The Seahawks totally suffocated him and Andy Reid's running game. Walker, the league-leading rusher, was limited to 36 rushing yards on 14 carries; he averaged just 2.6 yards per attempt, a career-low mark.

Mahomes was 19-of-33 for 165 yards and an interception. No Chiefs pass catcher reached 50 receiving yards.

The Seahawks outgained the Chiefs 410-213, nearly doubling their offensive output. The Seahawks also dominated the time of possession battle 35:51-24:09. That's a credit to both the offense and defense.

An all-around effort from the Seahawks included an elite defensive showing. It was a big-time win for the previously .500 Seahawks, who improved to 4-3 and kickstarted their 2026 season with a statement win.
