England superstar Ellie Kildunne has opened the door to another Olympic appearance in 2028, admitting she would love to return to the Games in Los Angeles.

The Red Roses sensation has become one of the biggest names in world rugby, helping England win the 2025 Women's Rugby World Cup.

But despite her success in the 15-a-side game, the 27-year-old has revealed she could make another switch ahead of the next Olympics.

Kildunne, who was named World Rugby Women's 15s Player of the Year in 2024, already has Olympic experience.

She represented Great Britain in rugby sevens at the Paris Games that same year, where the team finished seventh.

Now, the England full-back has admitted she would jump at the chance to experience it all again.

Ellie Kildunne opens door to 2028 Olympics

Speaking to The Guardian in September, Kildunne reflected on her previous Olympic experience.

"I learned so much when I went in last time," she said.

"It was a fantastic experience. I absolutely loved it. It challenged me in different ways. It definitely developed me. I would love to do it again."

However, the England star stressed that she was not looking too far into the future.

"LA is going to be huge. I have to focus on the now, if it is something that comes up, it comes up."

Her comments leave the door open to another spell in rugby sevens, although no decision has been confirmed.

Olympic return could present major decision

A return to sevens would give Kildunne the chance to compete at a second Olympic Games.

However, the move could require her to balance commitments to England's 15-a-side side and her club, Bristol Bears.

The full-back also has another major target on the horizon, with the inaugural women's British & Irish Lions tour scheduled for 2027.

Kildunne has already expressed her excitement about that historic tour, but insists her immediate performances must come first.

Meanwhile, World Rugby has confirmed that 12 women's teams will compete at the Los Angeles Olympics.

Qualification begins during the 2027 international sevens season, with the final places decided in June 2028.

For Kildunne, the prospect of another Olympic appearance is clearly appealing.

And with her pace, footwork and attacking ability, the England star could once again become a major asset to Great Britain's sevens ambitions.

Whether she makes the switch remains to be seen.

But one thing is certain: Kildunne has unfinished business with the Olympics.
