Everything Duke RB Nate Sheppard after record-breaking game vs. BC

Yeah, definitely. It feels great to... I came in here and wanted to set records, especially at the running back position. And to be able to do that, it's a lot of credit to them guys up front, getting me in position so many times, and the guys out wide making plays, but it feels great. Yes, I definitely feel like I'm in that conversation for sure. I don't like to put stuff out there like that, but I definitely think I'm up there for sure.

Early in the game, we punched a couple in early, and I was like, "We got to keep going." Really trying to get CJ one. That's been the goal for a couple weeks now, so we know it's coming now.

It's great. All the guys in the room, especially CJ, he's got such a great mindset. He comes to work every day. And then the young guys, Javion going out there and balling, breaking tackles and stuff like that. It's great to see what our running back room is. Yeah, it felt great whenever our offense is clicking, and then you got a shout at the defense. I mean, they pitched a shout out there, and that was great to watch, so it felt great.

Some of the guys on the sideline are like, "You got to hit it, you got to hit it." So I just give them what they want. Yeah, it does a lot. I feel like we haven't played a true, complete game since we played Stanford back at home, but to have this one and, obviously, have the gritty win last week builds a lot of confidence going into November. We say nobody really cares what you do August through October. November is where it really happens, so that's what we got to do. My goal is to just win the last four games, make it to an ACC championship.

Yeah, it feels great. We got a lot of team-first guys on our team. Nobody's selfish. Coach Diaz is always talking about if you're playing your job, it might be your teammate making a play, but that was really your play. So it's a lot of team first. It's great to have those guys out there blocking for me, and when I have the opportunity for blocking them, I try to do it too. Yeah, definitely. I've had a few pass-blocking areas the last couple weeks, and I really take that to my pride. It hurts when stuff like that happens. If I'm putting Walker in a bad position, putting our offense in a bad position, so I definitely take pass blocking to heart.

We don't hit all game balls, but I did get a nice little shout out. They might give me one. I don't know. I don't know how that works. Coach Diaz at the end. Yeah, definitely my parents. I'm about to go out there and talk to them. My grandparents are out there too, so they're always in my corner. They're always rooting for me, and then I'll talk to some of my friends and stuff who'll text me. Yeah, definitely. My mom and dad are always sending me stuff on Facebook or stuff like that of people talking about me back home. It's great to have that support.
