Khalil Mack anchored the Chicago Bears’ defense for four seasons before he was traded to the Los Angeles Chargers in 2022. The Bears have been linked to a potential reunion and reportedly have inquired about Mack this season, but the Chargers are telling teams they have no interest in trading him.

In a major claim, former Chargers defensive tackle Breiden Fehoko tweeted Saturday that “Chicago offered a 2027 Day 3 pick for Khalil Mack.” The claim comes just three days before the Nov. 10 trade deadline, with Mack still on the 0-7 Chargers.

If Fehoko’s account holds up, the Bears’ price this time would be far below the two first-round picks they gave up to land Mack before the 2018 season, a deal that brought them 36 sacks in 53 regular-season games. But Mack is now 35 and playing out the final year of his contract.

The Bears are 6-2 and second in the NFC North, and they have already sent two first-round picks to the Tennessee Titans for defensive tackle Jeffery Simmons.

Fehoko, though, opened Saturday morning with a question for anyone who had doubted him: “Y’all thought I was lying to you?” He posted the comment while reacting to reports that the Chargers were not operating as sellers.

A few hours later, Fehoko added, “When I tweeted this out, Chicago hadn’t expressed draft compensation officially till this tweet. It was just trade speculation.” His next sentence laid out the offer itself: “Chicago offered a 2027 Day 3 pick for Khalil Mack, and it was all but said and done.”

However, ESPN’s Adam Schefter reported Saturday that Los Angeles has no interest in trading the veteran pass rusher. What the Chargers have said in public also points the other way.

Jim Harbaugh was asked Monday whether Mack would have a say in a possible move to a contender. That was the day after a loss to the Los Angeles Rams dropped his team to 0-7. “I want Khalil Mack here,” he said. “Khalil Mack wants to be here. He’s one of the pillars of our team.”

Asked about planning for the future with the team at 0-7, Harbaugh said, “I’m focused on getting it turned, forging ahead, and really striving in every way to play winning football.”

Mack has struck the same tone. On Wednesday, Noah Furtado of The Athletic asked him whether he had made his wishes clear to Harbaugh and general manager Joe Hortiz. “Yeah, they know how I feel, man. It’s just tough with all the outside noise,” Mack said.

“Ultimately, I want to be here, and I want to help them win. Even though it’s tough right now, you always see the light at the end of the tunnel,” he added.

Mack has three sacks, five tackles for loss, and six quarterback hits this season after 5½ sacks in 2025. Pro Football Network’s NFL EDGE Impact Grade has Mack at 79.7 so far, 25th of 124 graded edge defenders.

The Chargers host the Houston Texans at SoFi Stadium on Sunday, two days before the deadline, with Mack still on their active roster.
