With Bryson DeChambeau winning twice on LIV Golf this year, fans would have been forgiven for assuming that he would lead the way for strokes gained off the tee in 2026.
DeChambeau gained more than half a shot per round on every other player on LIV off the tee during the 2025 season. So it is a surprise that he was actually the fifth best performer in the same category this past year.
Knowing that, it is probably not too much of a shock to learn who was number one, according to the numbers provided by Data Golf.
The good news for Bryson DeChambeau is that he was third for strokes gained approach. His iron play has often been the part of his game which has cost him in the past, particularly in the majors.
Of course, it is not yet clear where DeChambeau will be playing in 2027, so it is difficult to know what to expect from him in the coming months.
Bryson may have an extra incentive to sign up for LIV 2.0…
It was an underwhelming year for the South African, who did not register a single individual podium in 2026. The 37-year-old actually lost strokes to the field in every other major category.
With Louis Oosthuizen and Branden Grace already confirming their departures, it is hard to see the remaining Southern Guards – Burmester and Charl Schwartzel – staying on LIV next year.
Joaquin Niemann needs to get himself away from LIV Golf as soon as he can. He is one of the only players to have improved since joining the league, with nine wins under his belt.
He is in serious danger of watching his development stagnate if the Chilean has anything to do with LIV 2.0.
It is good news to hear that Jon Rahm will be leaving LIV Golf this winter. Despite winning the individual title three times, his move to LIV has done nothing for him in the majors.
And hopefully, Josele Ballester follows him out of the door. He remains a very raw talent, but he has an extremely high ceiling as proven by the fact that no one performed better off the tee in 2026.
