Michael Carrick will be sweating over his future as Manchester United manager in the wake of Saturday's crushing defeat at the hands of Chelsea. Goals from Morgan Rogers and Cole Palmer condemned the Red Devils to their ninth successive game without victory in all competitions, leaving them one point above the Premier League relegation zone ahead of the rest of this weekend's fixtures.

It was their first outing since Carrick narrowly avoided the sack earlier in the week after a round of crisis talks between United's top brass.

It remains to be seen if the 45-year-old will be axed following their latest defeat, which leaves the Red Devils in a very precarious position.

Jason Wilcox and Omar Berrada were in the stands at Stamford Bridge and will face a huge decision ahead of United's next game against Roma in the Champions League on Tuesday night.
