The UFC rankings have been updated following this past weekend’s card in Edmonton.

Another card in Canada resulted in another big main event win for Mike Malott as he stopped Joaquin Buckley in the second round.

Malott left a big impression on Dana White, which puts him in a great position regarding the next set of big matchups that will take place at welterweight.

However, there was another Canadian star in action on Saturday night who may not need to fight again in order to get her first shot at UFC gold.

Jasmine Jasudavicius enters women’s pound-for-pound rankings after beating Erin Blanchfield

Erin Blanchfield vs Jasmine Jasudavicius fell off UFC 330 before being rebooked for October 17 in Edmonton.

In this clash of flyweight contenders, it was the home fighter who secured the win, with Jasudavicius outworking her opponent to win the first two rounds on all three scorecards.

This win over the top-five ranked Blanchfield has put the Canadian within touching distance of a rematch with the recently crowned 125-pound champion, Natalia Silva.

The updates to the media rankings reflect this, with Jasudavicius now holding the #4 spot at flyweight after climbing above her opponent and Rose Namajunas.

While this is still significant, the much bigger change took place in the women’s pound-for-pound rankings.

Who is the best female fighter in MMA?

Blanchfield falling a staggering six spots down to #14 allowed Jasudavicius to debut on this list and climb right to #11, overtaking former champions in Namajunas and Raquel Pennington.

Alexa Grasso could also be set for a rematch with Silva, but one thing that will certainly work in Jasudavicius’ favor is the Octagon returning to Canada in January for UFC 336 in Toronto.

The Meta rankings, which differ from the media ones, have both Grasso (#2) and Jasudavicius (#3) just behind Silva and Valentina Shevchenko.

Mike Malott received the other substantial post-UFC Edmonton rankings boost

Mike Malott was unsurprisingly the other name that was expected to move up in the rankings following his main event win on Saturday night.

In the media rankings, he climbed three spots to #10, while Joaquin Buckley dropped down two places, landing at #12.

The Meta list will be even better viewing for ‘Proper’, considering that they had him positioned higher to begin with.

On this version of the rankings, he’s now holding the #8 spot.
