Spalding’s first-team opposition, Syston Seconds, conceded their Counties One Midlands East (North) match, resulting in the Elephants being awarded a five-point win.
It meant attention was switched to Spalding 1923s, who beat Kesteven Seconds 46-12 in Counties Four Midlands East (North East).
Despite taking to the field two players short, it was Kesteven who dominated the opening 10 minutes.
Against the run of play in the 11th minute, Spalding launched a counter attack down the right and Tom Parker-McGee’s pace stunned the visitors to open the scoring between the posts for a try converted by Bailey Hudson.
Spalding never looked back after that and within five minutes Ollie Sorrell went over with Parker-McGee making it 17-0 after 21 minutes
Kesteven opened their account before the break to make it 17-5 going into the second half.
Playing with only 13 players started to take effect in the second half for the visitors and a superb flowing home move saw right wing Adam Foster score.
Kesteven hit back with a converted try but Sorrell soon added his second try of the afternoon after slicing through several attempted tackles before cutting inside to outpace everybody.
The last 15 minutes saw Spalding take full advantage of their two extra players.
A forceful carry by Miguel Da Silva saw him charge through weakening tackles on his way to crossing the try line at pace.
Sorrell then completed his hat-trick before Finlay Roy burst through for the final try.
On Friday, Spalding Colts won 47-24 at Sleaford.
