How to watch Bayern Munich vs Arsenal: TV channel and live stream for Champions League today
Arsenal's consistency a testament to 'level of chemistry we've built', says Mikel Arteta after Lille win

Arsenal and Bayern Munich renew a long-standing rivalry in the Champions League tonight.

These two sides are no strangers when it comes to facing each other on Europe’s biggest stage and last season’s league phase clash went the way of Arsenal at the Emirates Stadium.

However, the Allianz Arena simply offers painful reminders for the Gunners as results have rarely gone their way upon visiting the third largest city in Germany down the years.

Arsenal’s most recent trip here ended in a 1-0 defeat as they crashed out at the quarter-final stage during the 2023-24 season, though that scoreline was a major improvement on the back-to-back 5-1 hammerings in November 2015 and February 2017.

Of Arsenal’s four wins over Bayern, one has come in Munich - but the round of 16 second leg 2-0 success in March 2013 was not enough to advance because of the away goals rule.

The stakes for tonight aren’t as high as usual given the format of the new league phase but Bayern will be keen to bounce back from dropping points away at Viking last week in a game that saw Michael Olise sent-off for two bookable offences.

Olise’s absence will be felt, though the hosts have plenty of firepower in attack - most notably former Tottenham striker Harry Kane - to pose a serious threat to Arsenal and their clean sheet record in the competition so far this season.

In 15 meetings between Bayern and Arsenal, there is yet to be a goalless draw and it would be a shock if that was to change tonight.
