Victor Ozhianvuna has issued an exit message to Shamrock Rovers ahead of his imminent move to Arsenal during the upcoming January transfer window.
Article continues under the videoThe Republic of Ireland U18 international will complete a €2 million transfer to the Emirates Stadium after his 18th birthday in January, with the terms of the deal finalised way back in October 2025.
Ozhianvuna, who is a boyhood Gunners fan, became the second-youngest ever player to feature in the UEFA Conference League last year, after starting Shamrock Rovers’ 3-1 defeat to Breidablik, and he will link up with Arsenal’s U21 side upon his arrival at the club.
The 17-year-old has already racked up 37 senior appearances for Shamrock Rovers, scoring once, and he has now bid farewell to his boyhood club as he prepares to complete his move to Arsenal.
“After 11 amazing years, I’m saying goodbye to the club where I’ve made memories that I’ll never forget,” Ozhianvuna posted on Instagram.
“I’ve met a lot of amazing people at the club and I’ve learned so much over the years as a footballer, but more importantly as a person and for that I’m forever grateful.
“I’d like to thank my coaches, my teammates and my friends and family for all the help over the years. I’d also like to thank the supporters for the constant love and support they’ve shown to me and to the club. The last few months have been difficult with an injury and I’m gutted to have not been able to play, but I couldn’t have asked for a better way to sign off than winning the league and lifting the trophy in front of the fans.
“As I move on to the next stage in my career, I’ll never forget the club that gave me a chance and I’m proud to say I’ve played for The Hoops.
“Forever grateful, Forever a Hoop.”
In addition to Ozhianvuna, who will arrive in January, Arsenal have also finalised deals to sign Ecuadorian twins Holger and Edwin Quintero, and Georgian youngster Andria Bartishvili next summer.
All four players are expected to bolster the club’s youth ranks, with an eventual progression into Arteta’s senior squad.
Meanwhile, the Gunners are also eager to land a number of new first-team stars, including a left winger. A centre forward is likely to be pursued if Viktor Gyokeres is sold on a permanent deal, while the club continue to be linked with defensive reinforcements, despite the summer arrivals of Piero Hincapie and Ezri Konsa.
