After moving on from GM Chris Ballard, could the Indianapolis Colts be sellers at the NFL trade deadline?
According to ESPN's Jeremy Fowler, "rival teams believe Indianapolis will be open for business ahead of the trade deadline."
However, that's not a given at the moment either. In a statement from Carlie Irsay-Gordon after the Colts fired Ballard, she stated that the Colts' 2026 goals remain the same. So Indianapolis may not be fully looking to the future just yet.
That said, at 2-4, they find themselves in a big hole, and how the next few weeks unfold could determine their approach to the trade deadline. Up next for the Colts are matchups against Minnesota, Jacksonville, and Dallas.
"If Indy can find a way to steal two wins in that slate, perhaps that affects trade plans," Fowler added. "But this iteration of the Colts does not look poised for upsets, so perhaps change is inevitable."
If the Colts do end up being active at the trade deadline, they have several players on expiring deals who could help contenders elsewhere, including DeForest Buckner, Josh Downs, Grover Stewart, and Quenton Nelson. Fowler and Dan Graziano mentioned Keenan Allen and Jerry Tillery as two other players to watch.
The NFL trade deadline is Nov. 10.
