Drew McIntyre has discussed why WWE is now more open to allowing its wrestlers to feature in movies and talked about his return to the ring.
McIntyre is currently off WWE television as he is busy in Hollywood, filming movies like "The Last Druid" and "Highlander." He's not the only WWE wrestler acting in movies, as the likes of Roman Reigns, Becky Lynch, and Cody Rhodes have also taken on acting roles recently. McIntyre attributes this to the new management being more open to wrestlers taking on projects outside WWE.
"I think a lot of people have talked about it, like Vince was very much like, I need you here. And to be fair, we had so many live events back in the day. My entire life up until the past few years was wrestling every single week, 52 weeks a year, three times a week, minimum," said McIntyre. "But you know, as I said, Nick [Khan] and Paul [Levesque] are very much of the mindset, like if it makes sense, if it helps everybody and helps your brand, which in turn helps our brand [it's good], because I'm not going anywhere anytime soon."
McIntyre recalled his early years in WWE, when he shared the ring not only with the likes of Triple H and Shawn Michaels, who were a generation ahead of him, but also with legends like Ric Flair. He reminded fans — and his peers — that he is just 41 years old and that they will be seeing more of him soon.
"I remind everyone my age all the time. I just turned 41 the other week. I'm 285 pounds. I'm the biggest I've ever been. You see the way I'll be hitting ropes, I'm the fastest I've ever been. My body feels fantastic. My mind's right. My body's right. It's just whenever I decide to bring Hollywood Drew back to WWE, it's going to get rolling," warned McIntyre.
McIntyre is currently focused on his Hollywood career but has also been hitting the ring ropes, where he showed off his impressive physique in what could be an ominous sign for his peers in WWE.
