Luke Littler dreams of a special meeting with Cristiano Ronaldo as Justin Hood picks The King to laughter: "Then he can be my subject for a day"
Luke Littler

Luke Littler has revealed who he would most like to present him with a trophy after winning a darts tournament. The 19-year-old world champion did not have to think long: football star Cristiano Ronaldo. “The Nuke” shared his choice during a light-hearted interview with fellow player Justin Hood, in which they discussed their favourite opponents, ideal victory celebrations and favourite darts venues.

Littler and Hood appeared together in a video interview for Target Darts, the manufacturer that sponsors both players. They were asked a series of questions, and their sense of humour was never far from the surface.

When asked who they would most like to see present them with a trophy, Littler had his answer ready. “Cristiano Ronaldo. There you go, Luke.”

Hood went for a very different famous face. “I’d go for the King. Then he can be my subject for a day.”

Chinese food makes the perfect finish

The two players were also largely in agreement on the best way to celebrate a win. Hood, who often spoke about wanting to buy a Chinese restaurant during his surprise run to the quarter-finals of the recent World Darts Championship, did not need long to decide.

“Chinese,” he replied.

Littler was happy with that choice, but left another option on the table. “Chinese or pizza. Why not?”

Hood laughed and responded with the now-famous catchphrase: “Bosh!”

Alexandra Palace remains the favourite

As well as sharing a love of food, Littler and Hood favour the same darts venue. Both Englishmen picked Alexandra Palace, home of the annual World Darts Championship, as their favourite place to play.

“Alexandra Palace, 100 per cent,” Hood said. “It's only getting bigger this year with 5,500."

Littler was surprised by the figure. "Something stupid"

Hood joked that the fans probably could not wait to see Littler win the world title again. For “The Nuke”, the perfect night at Alexandra Palace is simple. "I'd say Ally Pally, perfect night is hitting that winning double, picking up the trophy. Then going home and chilling out."

Littler picks Humphries as his favourite opponent

Finally, both players were asked who they most enjoy playing against. In a notable choice, Littler named his great rival Luke Humphries.

“I’d probably say Humphries for myself. With the Premier League week in week out, just battling."

Hood, by contrast, had less positive experiences against the former world champion and laughed at his fellow player’s choice.

“I’ve played Luke twice on the ProTour, and he's had a 114 and 109 average against me. So I ain't picking him."
