The Arizona Cardinals have been active in the trade market, having dealt away receiver Marvin Harrison Jr. and quarterback Jacoby Brissett. Other teams have inquired about players.
One will shock you.
According to ESPN's Adam Schefter, the Denver Broncos have been asking around the league about tight ends and even reached out to the Cardinals about Trey McBride.
McBride, who is not only one of the best tight ends in the NFL, is a Colorado native.
Understandably, "the Cardinals made it very clear they have zero intention of trading McBride."
McBride is the center of the Cardinals' offense. He leads the NFL in receptions and is on pace to shatter the single-season record for receptions by a tight end that he set last season. He has had at least seven catches in every game this season.
To be clear, this was not the Cardinals gauging interest in McBride. The Broncos made the call, and the Cardinals shut it down.
The NFL trade deadline is Tuesday.
