John Eustace was thrilled to finally secure Derby County's first home win of the season and revealed how a half-time pep talk from Shane Duffy and Jack Robinson helped their victory over Bolton.
Rhian Brewster capped off the win with a terrific strike in stoppage time, and Eustace said what they did at half-time proved crucial to the victory.
"I am very proud of the effort of the group," he said. "The group were outstanding, especially in that second half.
"We could have quite easily gone under after conceding just before the break. Things haven't been ideal, of course, but the way the group spoke was very pleasing for me.
"At half-time we've got a couple of experienced boys in there now in Shane Duffy and Jack Robinson, which made a huge difference to us. They really kept the group positive and said, listen, it's been a real, dogged first half, but the game is there to be won.
"You could see that in the performance tonight and something that we've definitely been missing.
"We changed our shape at half-time as well. Bolton are obviously a very good footballing team and dominated possession in that first half. But when we won it back, we weren't really a threat, and I thought a little tweak would have helped that, and it did."
Eustace was also full of praise for Nyambe who scored his first goal in senior football in more than 350 appearances in the Football League.
Last season the defender spent time on loan at Reading and looked to be heading out of the club in the summer, but Eustace was full of admiration for his professionalism.
"I think Ryan was kind of out of the picture last year. He was on loan to Reading, he's come back, and he certainly didn't start much at the beginning of the season.
"But when injuries happen, you need players to step up; I think he's been absolutely amazing. He's a top professional. He's worked his absolute socks off.
"He hasn't missed a day's training. There's never been a question of that.
"And I think we have to remember the last four or five games he's played centre half; he's never played centre half before, which also highlights, you know, the position that we've been in.
"I thought he was excellent today against a really top winger that Bolton have got there, and he didn't put a foot wrong, and I'm delighted for him because he's a lovely lad and a great character."
