Galatasaray claimed their first points of the Champions League campaign as they came from behind to beat Lille in northern France.

Striker Victor Osimhen was on target against his former club, sealing the success with his first goal in the competition since February.

Aiming to bounce back from a 4-1 home defeat by Barcelona last week, Galatasaray took the lead after just 66 seconds when Yunus Akgun pounced on a poor defensive header from Lille defender Alexsandro and finished high into the net.

Lille drew level in the seventh minute through teenager winger Soriba Diaoune, who showed great composure to run on to a through-ball from Alexsandro, rounded visiting goalkeeper Ugurcan Cakir and passed into the unguarded net.

Galatasaray were awarded a penalty midway through the first half after Lille goalkeeper Berke Ozer appeared to trip Osimhen, but a video assistant referee (VAR) review showed he won the ball.

Diaoune, 19, played in Lille's Uefa Youth League opener last month, but scored his, and his side's, second of the evening in the 39th minute with a reactive finish following a save.

But poor marking from the home side allowed the visitors to equalise a minute before the break, as Aleksey Batrakov headed in unmarked from a whipped Roland Sallai cross.

Suspect defending again played a part in a Galatasaray goal seven minutes into the second half as Lucas Torreira's header from a corner at the near post took a final touch from Ozer to put the Turkish side back in front.

Osimhen heaped further misery on his old side as he finished off a swift counter-attack just past the hour mark.

Galatasaray will look to build on their first Champions League victory this term when they host Stuttgart on Tuesday, 3 November at (17:45 GMT).

Lille, who have lost both their Champions League home matches this season from winning positions, will travel to Norway to face Bodo/Glimt later that evening (20:00 GMT) in search of their first points.
