The Wisconsin Badgers are only hours after a gut-wrenching 17-7 loss at the hands of the No. 10 UCLA Bruins. Since that loss, a lot has gone around on social media, and not much of it has been good.
That being said, there is still room for the Badgers to turn it around, as the season is nowhere near finished. The question is: Where do the Badgers have to take the biggest steps forward?
This is still an offense that is ranked No. 94 in the nation in total yards, notching just 341 yards per game.
In Fickell’s time with the Cincinnati Bearcats, starting in 2017, his offenses averaged 408.8 yards per game.
Since joining the Badgers, Fickell has averaged 330.4 yards per game. While year two under offensive coordinator Jeff Grimes has seen the Badgers go from 253.1 yards per game to 341 yards per game.
The lack of consistency has reared its ugly head all season long, especially in the loss against the Bruins, where the offense totaled just 214 yards.
Until this offense becomes more effective, results like these will only continue.
