Clydebank FC has condemned the "so-called young team" who set off fireworks that landed on the pitch during a game this week, dubbing them a "blight on football".
Chaos erupted at the match between Clydebank and Dumbarton FC on Tuesday (October 13) after fireworks landed on the football pitch at Holm Park - resulting in the game being halted.
The sell-out KDM Evolution Trophy game had to be temporarily stopped when fireworks set off by youths outside the grounds landed on the field.
Football fans recounted "mad" scenes as fireworks "kept getting closer to the pitch" until the referee was forced to stop the West Dunbartonshire derby.
Footage, which was filmed by Followingthe42 who was vlogging the game, shows fireworks directed from Glasgow Road in Clydebank exploding over Bankies' home ground during the match.
The rest of the game "passed without incident inside the gorund", Clydebank FC confirmed.

And the club has now slammed the youths responsible for the temporary halting of the game, saying "their behaviour has nothing to do with football".
In a statement released online, the club - who won the home game 4-0 - said: "Damaging property and causing fear and disruption in our community is not in our name and will never be associated with this club.
"So-called “young teams” causing destruction and disorder is a growing problem for clubs across the country. They are a blight on football and our local communities. These are not supporters. Their behaviour has nothing to do with football, and those wishing to act this way are simply not welcome at Clydebank FC. "
The game was the first time the local sides have met since 2001. Police Scotland said no one was hurt and enquiries are ongoing to trace those responsible.
Chief Inspector Lynn Edwards previously said: “Enquiries are ongoing to trace youths who launched fireworks in the Glasgow Road area of Clydebank on the evening of Tuesday, 13 October, 2026. One of the fireworks landed on the pitch of Holm Park, causing the football match between Clydebank and Dumbarton to be temporarily stopped.
“There were no injuries or damage reported. Ongoing high-visibility patrols will continue in the area to deter further antisocial behaviour as the Bonfire Night period approaches.”
