Dana White’s friend SteveWillDoIt has Brendan Allen almost $200,000 as a ‘performance bonus’ just weeks after his recent win.
Earlier this month, Brendan Allen returned to action when he took on Christian Leroy Duncan in a UFC Fight Night main event, hoping to return to the middleweight title conversation.
Allen overcame an illness to score the fifth round win, putting him back into the top five of the 185lb division and potentially closer to a clash against Sean Strickland.
Following his win, Allen backed Strickland’s fighter pay campaign by claiming that UFC fighters are ‘underpaid’, potentially risking his standing in the promotion.
Reports suggest the UFC are offering him $400k show and $400k win, while he wants more.
Strickland has threatened to sabotage his future fights as he still has several on his UFC contract after signing a new deal earlier this year, with a revision in pay looking extremely unlikely for the 35-year-old. And that has led to the UFC fighter pay dispute resurfacing, with the promotion once again receiving criticism.
That has led to gambling company Gamdom offering to pay every UFC fighter $10,000 a month as a ‘sponsorship’, in their attempt to help combat the issue of fighter pay. Ironically, though, Dana White‘s friend and social media personality, SteveWillDoIt, has a high-stakes partnership with the gambling company.
And this Tuesday afternoon, SteveWillDoIt took to social media to claim that he has paid ‘All-In’ Allen almost $200,000 as a ‘performance bonus’, glorifying the money that Gamdom is offering to fighters. “Congrats to my fighter Brendan Allen. This motherf—– just got a caddilac as a performance bonus!”
“Working for Gamdom and Get Motion Brand can be fun, if you are a winner! Guys if you have motion, I’M TELLING YOU… You wanna work for me and Gamdom and Motion. Like no one will take care of you like me! Also Gamdom doesn’t p— money away to every creator and their mother. Long term will be the place to be if you actually have ‘motion’,” he continued.
This past September, White won $2 million while gambling with SteveWillDoIt, and he has been known to bail the social media star out of a lot of debt with casinos in Las Vegas, making the whole issue of fighter pay feel like an even bigger kick in the teeth for fighters.
When making an appearance at UFC Edmonton this past Saturday, the UFC boss continued to back himself in the ongoing dispute with Strickland, claiming that there are no issues with the middleweight champion’s contract because he signed a new deal earlier this year.
