Evesham United Women suffer 4-0 defeat to Halesowen

The Robins, who started the match with a league debut for new signing Matilda Harris and welcomed back Chloe Raxter in goal, struggled against a team with a 100 percent opening record.

The absence of Natalie Sewell and Ria Salleh was felt as the match began under challenging conditions with a strong swirling wind.

Halesowen Town, with the wind in their favour, quickly took control of the first half.

A promising start was halted when Saff Boswell went down early, and Freya Bostock's efforts on the left were stifled.

Halesowen took the lead and swiftly doubled it, taking advantage of some indecision in Evesham's defence.

Midfielder Tamzin Hayward's afternoon took a turn for the worse as she collided with a pitch-side metal fence, forcing her to leave the field.

She was replaced by Zoe Bloss.

Boswell was also unable to continue and was substituted with Tallulah Brown.

Before the break, Halesowen hit the post and made it 3-0 with a shot from the left, leaving Evesham with a mountain to climb in the second half.

The Robins started the second half with belief, having previously drawn level from a 0-3 deficit against the same opponents, but it was not to be.

Despite creating opportunities and a change in shape, they struggled to find the back of the net.

Halesowen extended their lead to 4-0 before Evesham were dealt another blow with the departure of Yaz Gachette due to a heavy fall.

Ella Parkinson replaced her and added some attacking threat with her pace down the right flank.

Brown came close to narrowing the deficit, but her touch let her down.

Raxter's double save and the woodwork prevented Halesowen from making it five.

Despite the defeat, Evesham United Women can take positives from their performance as they continue their journey in Tier 6.

Their next match is at home against Worcester City Women U21s on November 1 at 2pm.
