Kevin Kisner has predicted that Brian Rolapp will resist the temptation to revive the Returning Member Program to enable Jon Rahm to make an immediate comeback to the PGA Tour.

Rahm dealt LIV Golf a blow when his lawyer confirmed this month that the Spaniard does not plan to continue with the league for its relaunch in 2027.

The question now is where will Rahm play his golf in 2027?

Kevin Kisner doubts Jon Rahm will be able to make an immediate return to the PGA Tour

The obvious answer appears to be the DP World Tour. Rahm is a member of the European circuit, with his most recent start coming at the BMW PGA Championship.

However, there will be some who want to see Brian Rolapp offer the two-time major champion the chance to come back to the PGA Tour.

The Returning Member Program was created in early 2026 to enable Brooks Koepka to rejoin following his departure from LIV Golf. Rahm would have been eligible to make the same move having won The Masters in 2023. However, he opted to stay put.

If you had to pick now, would you rather have Justin Rose or Eugenio Chacarra on your Ryder Cup team?

Rolapp has recently said that there are no plans to start the program up again despite the uncertainty surrounding LIV.

And speaking on the Fore Play Podcast, Kevin Kisner predicted that Rolapp will not change his mind now that Jon Rahm is leaving LIV.

“I had this discussion at lunch today with some fellow tour players I played with this morning, and everyone’s all over the place on it. Nobody really knows,” he said.

“My personal stance is Rolapp’s going to stick to his guns and be like, I gave you an opportunity to come back. I gave you a pathway in the off-season. You selected not to take it. Now go earn your way back onto our tour. If you want to be a full member in good status on our tour, there’s an option. You can go play the DP World Tour and earn your way back by finishing in the top 10.”

What Jon Rahm said about the Returning Member Program after Brooks Koepka left LIV Golf

Rolapp arguably produced a masterstroke when he unveiled the criteria that enabled Koepka to return to the PGA Tour. It ensured that LIV’s biggest stars could follow him, but did not open the door for players lower down the pecking order.

When Rahm was asked about the opportunity presented in front of him, he was quick to say that he was remaining with LIV Golf.

“I’m not planning on going anywhere, so very similar answer to what Bryson gave,” he said.

“I wish Brooks the best, and as far as I’m concerned, I’m focused on LIV for this year and hoping my team can repeat as champs.”

It was a boost for LIV that Rahm and DeChambeau decided to stay. The question many have probably wondered since is how difficult would it have been for Rahm to leave had he wanted to.

It looks to be good news for Rahm’s career that he can get away from LIV, having barely been a contender in the majors since his defection in December 2023.

But he may still have to be patient if he is hoping to get back to the PGA Tour in the near future.
