Ben Rhydding hand City of York first defeat of season

Ben Rhydding got off to a great start with goals from Will Musgrave and George Marsh in the first quarter.

A second from Marsh put them 3-0 up at half time but City of York pulled one back early in the second half before the game became scrappy with a flurry of yellow cards.

The visitors pulled another goal back but Ben Rhydding held on to take an excellent win against a previously unbeaten York side.

This Saturday, sixth-placed Ben Rhydding travel to face leaders Durham University thirds.

Also on Saturday, Ben Rhydding Women fared less well, their first team losing 1-0 at home to Bristol-based side Clifton Robinsons in Division One North.

They were defeated by single goal partway through the third quarter and were unable to take advantage of a late yellow card for Clifton.

This Saturday, second-bottom Ben Rhydding Women are away at Leicester City.
