While Arch Manning’s stock has fallen, including his chances at the Heisman Trophy, Ohio State wide receiver Jeremiah Smith continues to strengthen his position in the national spotlight. The junior caught four passes for 68 yards and a touchdown Saturday as the No. 4 Buckeyes defeated No. 5 Indiana 19-15 at Memorial Stadium in Bloomington. Ohio State improved to 6-1 overall and 4-0 in Big Ten play, while handing the defending national champions their first loss of the season. The victory carried significance well beyond the standings. Ohio State snapped Indiana’s 22-game winning streak, the longest active run in the country, as well as the Hoosiers’ 19-game home winning streak and 15-game streak in Big Ten play. The Buckeyes also secured their second ranked road victory of the season, a distinction shared by only two teams nationally entering the weekend.
