Kylian Mbappé's brilliant double on Sunday helped Real Madrid prepare for next week's El Clasico with a 4-1 triumph over Sevilla at the Bernabeu.

The France striker finished off a fine team move in style to double Madrid's lead in the 37th minute after Arda Güler put the hosts ahead with a curling strike on the half hour.

Mbappé extended their advantage with a Panenka penalty after the break and although Manu Bueno scored a consolation goal, Yan Diomande soon fired home to wrap up the three points.

Victory comes just days after earning a stunning 4-3 comeback win over Jose Mourinho's former club Roma in the Champions League and ahead of a huge week for Los Blancos.

They return to European action against RB Leipzig on Wednesday before Sunday's trip to the Spotify Camp Nou, where Madrid take on LaLiga leaders Barcelona, who have started the domestic season with nine straight wins.

Madrid pulled off the one-sided win without the services of Vinícius Júnior, who is serving the first of a four-game ban for pulling the hair of Villarreal's Nathan Saliba last weekend.
