Match officials revealed for England v France as Super League referee placed on double duty

England and France have learned that 2023 and 2026 NRL Grand Final referee Adam Gee will officiate their match-up in Perth on Saturday.

Gee, a first-grade official with over 15 years of experience, will take the whistle when Brian McDermott and Lauren Frayssinous’ men take to the field at HBF Park.

Overseeing the 2023 Pacific Championships final between Australia and New Zealand, as well as the Pacific Bowl meeting between PNG and Fiji in 2025, the 41-year-old is no stranger to the international arena.

He will take charge of an England game for the first time, however he did perform the role of video referee in three of their matches at the 2022 Rugby League World Cup.

Joining him as part of the officiating line-up will be Jon Stone and Matt Noyen (touch judges) and Chris Butler as the ‘bunker review official.’

English referees Chris Kendall, Liam Moore and Tara Jones have all been given roles this week, with Kendall taking the men’s fixture between Papua New Guinea and Samoa.

Moore will take charge of Tonga v Lebanon, a game that takes place on Friday morning, whilst Jones will be the touch judge when Samoa face Wales on the same day.

It’s a busy weekend for Jones, who will then move to the on-field referee role when New Zealand Women face France on Sunday.
