After losing kicker Blake Grupe to a torn ACL, the Los Angeles Rams are adding a former Denver Broncos Super Bowl champion.
The Rams are signing kicker Brandon McManus, according to a report from Ian Rapoport and Mike Garafolo of NFL Network. McManus and fellow former Denver kicker Matt Prater worked out for L.A. on Tuesday, and McManus apparently won the tryout.
McManus took over kicking duties for the Broncos in 2014 after the team cut Prater. McManus went on to spend nine seasons in Denver. He was a perfect 10-of-10 on field goal attempts during the 2015 playoffs, playing a key role in the Broncos' 24-10 win over the Carolina Panthers in Super Bowl 50.
McManus' 223 field goals with Denver rank second in franchise history, only trailing two-time Super Bowl champion Jason Elam (395). Following his time with the Broncos, McManus has stints with the Jacksonville Jaguars and Green Bay Packers before being picked up by the Rams.
