Manchester City are still waiting to find out if their appeal against their 114 charges is successful and their punishment if it is not.

Chelsea 'worse than Man City'

'Exciting times for City's academy'

Manchester City will be forced to rely on their academy more if they do indeed spend two seasons in the Championship.

The good news for City fans, though, is that Phil Foden reckons their youth system is only improving.

Foden scored a hat-trick in City's Champions League demolition of AEK Athens last night.

Elsewhere, Rico Lewis managed two assists, Ryan McAidoo got one and Floyd Samba and Kaden Braithwaite made their European debuts.

After, Foden said: "You see it now how many players have gone to have big careers. It just keeps on getting better and better, the academy.

"It must be the way the coaches are coaching them, the right way. It's exciting times for the academy."
