The midfielder returned from a loan at Toronto FC and it was widely expected he would leave Ibrox again, whether on another temporary move or a permanent one. Hoever, nothing arose for him and he is still contracted to the club.

El Futbolero report that Colombian side Junior de Barranquilla could be a destination for the 27-year-old.
Sebastian Beccacece is reportedly being targeted by Junior as they search for a new manager, and he has already identified two players he managed with the Ecuador national team - Cifuentes being one.
The Colombian league is in the final weeks of its season and Beccacece would hope to take over for the 2027 campaign - and would like to have Cifuentes and Carlos Gruezo with him.
That could mean a January window Ibrox exit for the Rangers outcast, although the report does not state whether it would be a loan or permanent.
