An early first-half strike from the home side proved to be enough to sink the Puritans, who were denied a last-gasp equaliser by a contentious offside decision.
They also finished the game with 10 men after the 52nd-minute sending off of Aaron McCreadie, which Langmead felt was harsh.
Following the final whistle, there were then some ugly scenes as a section of home fans and some players clashed, with Banbury's Finn Howell controversially being red-carded by the referee.
Langmead branded the post-match scenes 'totally unacceptable', but admitted Step 4 side Bourne were worthy winners over the 90 minutes.
"We didn't start well, and they have scored early," Langmead told Puritans LIVE.
"That gave them a massive lift, and although we huffed and puffed we didn't really move the ball quickly enough and were too slow in our play.
"Bourne had something to hold on to, their mentality changes, and we just weren't good enough.
"We didn't play the conditions particularly well, I thought they handled that better, and ultimately we just weren't good enough.
"They had something to protect and they did it really well, but we didn't get the ball into the box enough, we didn't create enough.
"It is difficult in those conditions at times, but there just wasn't enough quality from us.
"We threw everything at it, but we are making things incredibly hard for ourselves at the minute."
On the disallowed goal right at the end, Langmead said: "The players are adamant he was onside, they are adamant Bourne's goal was offside, it also looked like we should have got a stonewall penalty.
"I believe their player has even said he didn't touch the ball.
"But the bottom line is we have conceded a poor goal early on, we were good enough across the board, but I do think there were factors that played a part in that."
Then he was asked about the red cards, and added: "I don't ever really want to come out and talk too much about officiating and things like that, but it wasn't good.
"I didn't think Creads' was a red card, it was a slightly mistimed challenge and it wasn't bad one or a dangerous one, it was just a little bit late.
"But he was keen to get the red card out and then there was the one at the end.
"Things went on at the end of that game that are unacceptable."
Banbury United are back in action on Tuesday night when they entertain Worcester City in the Pitching-In Southern League Premier Central (ko 7.45pm).
The Puritans go into that game three places and just three points above the bottom four.
