Madrid look to keep winning

Madrid are currently fourth in La Liga with 18 points, having won six and lost two. The defense has been shaky, but the attack has the firepower to cover it up. Next week’s schedule is brutal, with RB Leipzig at home on Wednesday and a trip to Camp Nou for El Clásico on Oct. 25. A win here would provide the boost they need.

Sevilla are a tricky opponent

Sevilla are currently fifth in La Liga with 14 points. Their last meeting with Madrid was a 1-0 loss on May 17, and they’ve also lost 3-1 at Barcelona this season, but their defense still proves to be formidable.

Team news

Vini Jr. is suspended for the first of a three-game La Liga ban after the hair-pulling incident last weekend, which opens the door for Diomande to start again. Eder Militao, Raul Asencio and Rodrygo remain out injured.

Sevilla will be without Isaac Romero, Marcao, Jon Guridi and Miguel Sierra.

Predicted lineups

• Real Madrid: Courtois; Alexander-Arnold, Konate, Huijsen, Cucurella; Valverde, Tchouameni; Guler, Bellingham, Diomande; Mbappe.
• Sevilla: Vlachodimos; Iglesias, Castrin, Salas, Suazo; Agoume, Fofana; Gatito, Alfon, Correia; Ure.
