Top scorer Erling Haaland is set to return as Manchester City travel to Aston Villa this weekend. The prolific Norway striker was not risked in City’s Champions League victory over AEK Athens in midweek after a blow to the foot in the previous game against Ipswich.Haaland scored twice against the Tractor Boys last Saturday, taking his goal tally for the season to 12, but limped off at full-time and was an unused substitute on Tuesday.Enzo 💬 (On the mood in the dressing room) The mood is very good. There are still doubts.“Erling is the only one who is 100 per cent available and for the other three we need to wait.”City have started the season superbly, with Maresca becoming the first manager to win his first seven Premier League games after taking charge of a new club. They are three points clear at the top of the table ahead of Saturday’s trip to Villa Park.Their only defeats this term have come against champions Arsenal in the Community Shield and Europe’s top side Paris St Germain in the Champions League.Their form has also shown no signs of being affected by the storm that has surrounded the club since last month’s guilty verdict for breaching financial regulations.City have won their first seven Premier League games of the season (Martin Rickett/PA)“The mood is very good,” said Maresca. “We are happy with our start but we are hungry for more wins.”The goals have also been flowing, with 23 scored in the last six games, but Maresca feels there is still room for improvement.“We need to find the right balance between the goals we score and the goals we concede,” the Italian said.“In this moment we are scoring many goals but I’m sure that we can improve. There is always something that we can do better. This is our target.”Villa made a slow start to the campaign after losing key players in the summer but are now unbeaten in six games and have also impressed in Europe.Maresca said: “I have huge respect for Unai Emery. He’s a fantastic manager and they are a very good team.“You can see clearly what they want, they are very intense off the ball and in this moment they are in a good mood, they are winning games. I am sure, 100 per cent, it is going to be a tough game.”
