This week was the earliest which Jack Bech could return to practice from injured reserve. His return opened up a 21-day window for him to be activated to the roster. But the Raiders didn't wait. They made the move right away, getting some much-needed help at wide receiver ahead of their matchup with the Jets.
Bech suffered a forearm injury in the team's game in New Orleans in Week 3 and was subsequently placed on injured reserve, thus sidelining him for at least four weeks.
The second-year wideout was to be a significant part of the Raiders passing attack along with top receiver Tre Tucker and newly added free agent Jalen Nailor. The team was looking for Bech to make a second-year leap in production. Now that he has put the injury behind him, he can try and pick up where he left off.
Bech had six receptions for 48 yards and a touchdown over the first two games prior to his injury.
In a corresponding move, the Raiders placed DE Patrick Johnson on injured reserve.
