Signed by Paris Saint-Germain last January, Dro Fernández (18) is reportedly source of internal tension at the club, according to L’Équipe.
Having made 20 appearances (including 10 starts and one goal) in all competitions since his arrival from FC Barcelona for €8m, the young midfielder has gradually established himself as a regular in Luis Enrique’s squad.
This is said to have caused particular consternation within PSG’s academy, where several young players and coaches believe his signing has blocked the prospects of certain home-grown talents, deemed just as promising. Starting with Mathis Jangeal (18) and Aymen Assab (18), both of whom left last summer.
But tensions also appear to be mounting within the first-team squad itself, with questions being raised about his treatment compared to that of Senny Mayulu (21) or Quentin Ndjantou (19). Some even believe that Fernández is receiving a slight preferential treatment from Enrique, particularly as the two Spaniards are represented by the same agent, Ivan de la Peña.
