Man Utd boss Michael Carrick has confirmed that Noussair Mazraoui is set to return to the matchday squad for the game against Leeds United.
The fullback sustained a back injury whilst playing for Morocco against Lesotho during the international break.
Mazraoui hasn’t featured in the last two fixtures against Spurs and Atletico Madrid, but speaking in his pre-match press conference on Friday, Carrick said:
“Hopefully, we’ve got Nous back involved with us. He’s done a little bit of training, so he’ll be back around the group, which is a good step in the right direction for us.”
Expected Return Date – Sunday 18th October vs Leeds (a)
Carrick is sweating over the fitness of the left-back ahead of the game at Elland Road.
Shaw missed the defeat to Atletico Madrid midweek with a knock, and when asked about his fitness on Friday, Carrick said:
“We will see”.
The cryptic response may suggest that Shaw is either touch and go for the trip to Elland Road, or Carrick doesn’t want to give away any key information ahead of an important derby.
Expected Return Date – Unknown
In his response to being asked about Shaw’s fitness, Carrick gave the same answer about the midfielder’s availability.
Mainoo also sat out the 2-0 loss to Atletico Madrid, having sustained an injury last weekend during the 1-1 draw against Tottenham.
Expected Return Date – Unknown
“Ben’s got to have a few more checks. He’s still a little bit further away.”

The winger sustained a hamstring injury whilst playing for Denmark against Wales during the international break.
Dorgu is set to be on the sidelines for several weeks, and it remains to be seen if he will return before the next round of international fixtures.

The midfielder underwent surgery for a knee ligament injury he sustained at the World Cup back in late June.
Ugarte faces a lengthy rehabilitation process, and he is unlikely to play again before the end of 2026.
