WATCH: 49ers offense on fire vs Commanders with 2 TDs in first quarter

The San Francisco 49ers are on fire against the Washington Commanders with two touchdowns in the first quarter, giving them a 13-3 lead.

The San Francisco 49ers marched down the field with ease on their opening drive against the Washington Commanders. They capped off their opening drive with an 11-yard touchdown pass from Brock Purdy to George Kittle to take a 7-0 lead.

Here is a look at Kittle's touchdown, courtesy of the NFL's official social media:

Purdy was nearly perfect on the opening drive with a 24-yard pass to Mike Evans on their first third down of the game and three straight completions after that. So far this season, Purdy has been one of the best quarterbacks in the NFL, completing 69 percent of his passes, throwing 13 touchdowns and just two interceptions in the first five games.

Washington responded with a field goal on their opening possession. However, there was a personal foul against San Francisco that was not called on third down. Had it been called, it would have kept the drive alive and the Commanders potentially could have scored a touchdown.

San Francisco was able to score a touchdown on their second drive of the night, this time from Christian McCaffrey. It was set up by Purdy, who had a seven-yard run on fourth down to keep the drive going. The 49ers missed the extra point, but still had a 13-3 lead.
