Burnley

Fabio Celestini applauding

Burnley manager Fabio Celestini told BBC Radio Lancashire after his side's goalless draw in his first game in charge:

"It is a great feeling to be at Turf Moor, part of English football, traditional football in this incredible stadium.

"It is my birthday, three points would be a perfect present. But it was a perfect birthday because the fans were incredible with me.

"It was a solid performance. I know these games can be very difficult and the team can be fragile. We fought for 95 minutes and I saw a good spirit, a good dynamic.

"That is the first step but [it is] not enough. We tried to give what we had to win and it was not possible."

Draw against Burnley. Didn’t play that great but still unbeaten in last 6 games. PUP!

Thomas (age 8), Edinburgh

West Ham were favourites for promotion but with a weak goalkeeper and defence, their opponents are realising there is not much to fear. Away wins at Bolton and Swansea could have gone the other way and even winning 6-0 they didn't look good until Lincoln went down to 9 men.

Clive, London

Hope Thomas the analytical eight-year-old Portsmouth fan from Edinburgh (can't be many of them!) had a great day!

West Ham fans are boing everything now, and the Albion fans are joining in for sport.

Taty Castellanos lashes wildly off target from the edge of the box and gets the jeers, while the hosts are also copping it at the other end for not closing down their opponents.

Tammer Bany, who has had an injury-plagued time at Albion, is on for Felix Horn Myhre for the visitors for the closing stages.

It's turning ugly at the London Stadium.

Unless you're in the away end.

It's more terrible defending as Isaac Price's deep corner is deflected away from the goalmouth by the dangling leg of Morato, who should have launched into into Row Z, but it drops to Callum Styles to lash the bouncing ball through a crowd and into the net via a slight deflection.

Thousands of fans are heading to the exits.

Cameron Bragg has been superb today and gets a goal to double the Southampton lead.

The young midfielder has played a key role in stifling the QPR attack in this game alongside midfielder partner James Ward-Prowse.

The pair have broken down a number of attemps the visitors have made to get forward in this second half.

"Cameron Bragg, he's one of our own" rings around St Mary's and honestly Saints look like they're cruising here.

Well that is absolutely bizarre.

The boos inside St Mary's are deafening as the referee blows for half-time and the officials walk down the tunnel.

About 30 seconds into the celebrations for what appeared to be a second goal for Saints the lineman's flag goes up and the Southampton players are absolutely furious.

It looked like Jack Stephens was called to be in an offside position when the ball was headed past him by Lewis Dobbin and into the net.

We'll have to wait and watch that one back.

Swansea have pulled clear of Blackburn here and, while Vitor Matos' have played some really good football, it has all been too easy from Rovers' perspective.

Academy product Filip Lissah has his first Swansea goal in his 14th senior appearance and unless Rovers change something, there could be more to come from the home side.

Tony Mowbray will have plenty to say at half-time, you'd imagine.

End-to-end stuff, chances for both sides.

Bristol City work it nicely and Lorent Tolaj forces a great save from Jack Bonham. Then Tolaj has the ball in the back of the net but the flag is up for offside.

At the other end, Atsuki Ito's left-footed strike is brilliantly kept out by Bradley Collins before Samuel Iling-Junior's effort is blocked.

Clinical.

It's happened again, Hammers fans.

Isaac Price's superb curling through ball sets Jimmy-Jay Morgan racing into the box on the right and he unselfishly opts to square for Felix Horn Myhre to tap in from a couple of yards out, rather than shoot himself.

West Ham are at least 1-0 down inside 20 minutes at home for the third straight league game.

Away we go in sunny E20, some hardy bubbles still blowing across the pitch.

We're a moment or two behind schedule after the Irons' Remembrance Day commemorations in their final home game before the day.

West Ham have made three changes from the XI which went down 3-2 to Southampton here seven days ago.

Konstantinos Mavropanos misses out with a knee problem with Airidas Golambeckis drafted in at centre-back while Edvin Austbo replaces Manor Solomon and Pablo is handed a start in place of Taty Castallanos, with both dropping to the bench.

Albion have made two changes from the side which drew 1-1 at Preston with Rabby Nzingoula replacing Harry Whitwell and Jimmy-Jay Morgan starting in place of Barney Stewart, who are named among the substitutes along with Aune Hebbego, who has scored two and assisted another in his past three games as a replacement.

Kim Hellberg

Hard to envisage two teams going into a match in more contrasting runs of form.

Table-topping Middlesbrough are unbeaten in their past 10 league games, while Charlton are winless in their past nine.

Free-scoring Boro hammered Bolton 5-1 last time out and their 27 goals in their opening 12 matches is their most at this stage of a season since 1959-60 (30).

The Addicks badly need to pull out of the tailspin that has seen them skitter down the table since winning their first three games.

Nathan Jones' men did win 1-0 in this fixture last season so can look back on recent success on Teesside but this looks like a tall order.

Stoke City's Ben Wilmot celebrating a goal with his arms out wide

Full-time and Stoke City pick up a more than deserved three points at home to add to rock-bottom Preston's woes.

It's been a comfortable afternoon's work for the Potters who have moved up to third in the Championship for the time being.

Ben Wilmot's thumping header gave the home side a half-time lead and Jack McGlynn swept home a second after the interval in a straightforward day's work.

Preston were booed off at the end of the match by their travelling support, some of whom cried "you're not fit to wear the shirt" towards the players.

They remain on just five points after 13 matches, six points adrift of safety.

Alessio Dionisi will hoping that Watford can get something from this game because there'll be question marks over his future.

Five defeats in their past six if this stays like this.

Some of the Watford substitutes have got to make an impact.

Two for August Priske, two for Birmingham City!

Lincoln are stung from a long throw.

Alex Cochrane hurls it into the box and Christoph Klarer flicks it on for Priske to beat George Wickens to the ball and score from four yards out.

Mountain to climb for the home side now.

Jack McGlynn goal

Stoke get their all-important second goal they were looking for.

North End give the ball away cheaply in their own half and Robert Bozenik shifts the ball on to Jack McGlynn.

The American gets the ball back from Ethan Galbraith and sweeps the ball first-time with his left foot into the far corner leaving Daniel Iversen no chance once more.

Their second half so far has merited that goal.

Gaps beginning to appear in Preston now.

Stoke break the press and Robert Bozenik eventually gets the ball over to Jack McGlynn.

The American's deflected effort looks to be going wide but Daniel Iversen pushes the ball wide for a corner.

That resulting corner comes to nothing for Stoke.

Preston so close to taking the lead!

The visitors win a free-kick in a good position after Bosun Lawal is guilty of a push in the back - needless.

Jordan Thompson whips the ball over the wall, as it gets a little nick on the way through, but hits the side-netting of Viktor Johansson's net.

The Swedish shotstopper was scrambling there.

Here's how the Championship table looks before a ball is kicked on the final day of October.

Middlesbrough lead the way and the form guide will tell you they will be heavy favourites against Charlton today, but football doesn't always go the way you think it will - just ask Arsenal.

If Kim Hellberg's men do slip up there are a host of teams coming up on the rails behind them including Swansea, who are seeking a return to form after two defeats, and West Ham who host West Brom.

Towards the bottom there is no time to settle in for new Burnley boss Fabio Celestini who has to change Burnley's fortunes around quickly, while bottom two Derby and Preston are in desperate need of goals, wins, and general positivity around their clubs again.

Preston North End boss Graham Alexander

The situation is already dire for Preston North End fans.

Picking up just five points from their first 12 league games of the season, the Lilywhites are six points adrift of Championship safety as they head to the Potteries to take on Stoke City in a lunchtime kick-off.

Graham Alexander's side were denied just their second league win of the campaign last week when Aune Heggebo struck late on in the 1-1 draw at home with West Bromwich Albion which felt like a big opportunity for three points missed.

Stoke's season has started brightly but a drab 0-0 draw with Bristol City in torrid conditions last Saturday saw them drop out of the play-off places on goal difference.

Mark Robins' side will be looking to get back to winning ways having won six of their last nine league games (D2 L1), as many victories as they managed across their previous 32 Championship matches combined.
