In December of 2007, the Charlotte Bobcats completed a midseason trade that sent Walter Herrmann and Primoz Brezec to the Detroit Pistons in return for backup center Nazr Mohammed. Mohammed, a former NBA champion in 2005 with the San Antonio Spurs, provided Charlotte with much needed frontcourt depth, starting in 29 of his 61 appearances to end the season. Mohammed would go on to wear both the No. 6 and the No. 13 during his tenure with Charlotte.
The former No. 29 overall pick would play parts of four seasons for the Bobcats, averaging 7.2 points, 5.1 rebounds, 0.6 assists, 0.3 steals and 0.8 blocks in 17.2 minutes per game. Charlotte later flipped Mohammed at the 2011 NBA trade deadline for D.J. White and Morris Peterson. Mohammed would go on to play 18 NBA seasons overall, averaging 5.8 points, 4.7 rebounds, 0.4 steals and 0.6 blocks in 1,005 appearances.
