Cowboys linebacker Dee Winters started the first six games of the season, but the team will have to look elsewhere for defensive help in the near future.
Winters suffered an Achilles strain during Sunday night’s loss to the Packers and executive vice president Stephen Jones said on 105.3 The Fan on Monday that Winters “will likely miss time” due to the injury.
Winters had an interception in the first quarter of Sunday night’s game and appeared to return it for a touchdown, but was ruled down by contact after a replay review. He had 35 tackles and a fumble recovery in the first five weeks of the season.
DeMarvion Overshown could be part of the plan to replace Winters. He’s missed five games with a hamstring injury, but practiced last week and was listed as questionable before ultimately being ruled out.
