Regis Le Bris believes he will be able to find the solutions to turn Sunderland's Premier League fortunes around following their 3-1 defeat to Coventry City on Saturday.
Sunderland remain rooted to the bottom of the Premier League having failed to win any of their last seven games in the competition (D2 L5).
Their five points this season are their lowest they have accumulated after nine games into a campaign since 2016-17, when they were relegated from the top tier (two points).
First-half goals from Tatsuhiro Sakamoto and Taiwo Awoniyi gave Coventry a commanding lead before Jack Rudoni scored a third, seven minutes into the second half.
Enzo Le Fee managed to pull one back from the penalty spot in the 67th minute, but any chance of a Sunderland comeback were scuppered by Omar Alderete's late red card.
"Bad result. Ups and downs, I think the summary of this game and the season so far," said Le Bris. "We can play good football and create some good chances, but we also made many unforced errors.
"At this level, especially in the Premier League, the opponent can seize every single opportunity, and [Brentford] did that. It's not a question of luck, it's a question of us. We are too inconsistent at the minute to be efficient in this league."
Sunderland registered an expected goals (xG) of 1.65 from 17 shots, but the pressure will surely ramp up on Le Bris after Saturday's game. However, the Frenchman remains undeterred.
"In my mind, I worked for Sunderland for 10 years, so I'm here to give everything," added Le Bris. "I work hard, I will connect with people, with the players to find solutions."

For Coventry boss Frank Lampard, Saturday's win secured a third Premier League triumph for the Sky Blues, who are now up to 15th in the standings.
Coventry have now won three of their last five games in the Premier League (L2), with only Brighton (four) winning more top-flight fixtures in the league since MD5.
This was also the second time Coventry recorded 3+ goals in their last four Premier League games (a 4-1 win over Newcastle United on MD6), as many times as they did so across their previous 51 games in the competition.
After suffering a narrow 1-0 loss to Fulham last week, the former Chelsea and Everton head coach was impressed with the way his team responded.
"Really pleased [with the performance]. It was the energy I spoke before the game, that we didn't have our usual energy last week. This week we did," said Lampard.
"And sometimes you get what you deserve through that. We made it a difficult game for them from the beginning. We started really well, and we got our goals which were fantastic."
