Former Ohio State standout Carnell Tate scored his first NFL touchdown as a young professional.
The Tennessee Titans rookie caught his first career touchdown in today's AFC South matchup against the Indianapolis Colts. With Tennessee trailing 13-6 in the fourth quarter, quarterback Cam Ward rolled out to his left and connected with Tate for an eight-yard touchdown. The toe-tap grab from Tate gave the Titans new life late in the game and helped propel them to a 26-20 win, their first of the season.
Tate finished Sunday's game against the Colts with 6 receptions for 70 yards and the rookie's inaugural score, adding another milestone to his rookie campaign.
Before making his jump to the NFL, the former Buckeye spent three seasons wearing scarlet and gray, where he developed into one of the nation's top receiving prospects. In his final season at Ohio State, he tallied 875 yards and nine touchdowns, helping to solidify his status as a top NFL draft prospect in the 2026 class.
Tate has shown flashes of this production for Tennessee this season, including a nine-catch, 145-yard performance vs. the Baltimore Ravens earlier this year. Sunday marks another step forward towards a successful transition as he looks to build on the numbers he enjoyed in Columbus.
