Fabian Bredlow, currently playing as a back-up for VfB Stuttgart, could fulfil a similar role at FC Bayern if rumours are accurate.
According to a report from Sky Germany this evening, VfB Stuttgart's Fabian Bredlow has been offered to Bayern Munich.
The 31-year-old would reportedly be content with the role of backup goalkeeper at the Bavarian giants, as he was in Stuttgart.
The former German youth international, who recently entered the final year of his contract, fits the desired profile Bayern are seeking.
However, according to the pay-TV channel's sources, Bayern Munich have refrained from making a move for the shot-stopper.
Instead, Bayern are both waiting to hear Manuel Neuer's decision on his future and also currently considering other candidates.
TSG Hoffenheim's Oliver Baumann, Finn Dahmen of FC Augsburg and 1.FC Köln shot-stopper Marvin Schwäbe are all on shortlisted.
Additionally, the likes of Bernd Leno at FC Fulham and Daniel Heuer Fernandes of Hamburger SV provide further opinions.
