NFL trade deadline: 4 players we want to see dealt to ideal landing spots include RBs Saquon Barkley and Jonathan Taylor

The NFL trading season is heating up, and the Indianapolis Colts’ fire sale is keeping the league warm.

The trade deadline is Nov. 10, but we’ve already had some notable deals go down this season involving the Dallas Cowboys (Joey Porter Jr.), Houston Texans (Marvin Harrison Jr.) and New York Giants (J.J. McCarthy).

What trade do you want to see go down before the deadline?

Seattle is still a Super Bowl contender, so why not, after dealing for Quenton Nelson on Tuesday afternoon, push some more chips in for Taylor, one of the NFL's best backs? It would add a massive boost to a team that still could be great this season and it would ensure Taylor isn't wasting another season of a great career on a horrendous Colts team. This is a win-win for everyone.

One intriguing possibility: Minnesota, whose 2027 draft capital includes four picks in the first three rounds. How would Saquon look in purple? With that Super Bowl-caliber defense, pretty damn good.

The Niners replaced Jennings and fellow former receivers with rookie De'Zhaun Stribling in the draft and veteran Mike Evans in free agency. Thanks to injuries, neither is currently available. Injuries perennially plague San Francisco; they’re nearly a feature of the Kyle Shanahan grind rather than a bug. (I’m not suggesting anyone aspires to injuries, but some teams have a higher risk tolerance when working their teams in practice.)

So San Francisco needs insurance and should forget any hard feelings knowing Jennings can shoulder a segment of the load if needed. In return, Minnesota should recoup a Day 3 pick and some salary cap space to contribute toward an offensive complement that will help spark its 29th-ranked offense. No, 6-0 teams don’t usually ship off players. But consider this shifting assets, Minnesota using the capital to grab a player the club will better utilize.

I think a 2027 fourth- or fifth-round pick could get it done, considering Mack’s age (35) and expiring contract.
