The latest update on Jalen Hurts’ health is worse than fans anticipated, and their reactions have been a blend of worried and mad at the Philadelphia Eagles.
The Philadelphia Eagles have had a disappointing start to the season, going 2-3 through their first five games. The team has been decimated by injuries to some big stars, but their year has now gone from bad to worse after the latest news.
Reports emerged after their game against the LA Rams that Jalen Hurts had a blood clot he needed to deal with. Despite this, the star quarterback flew to London with the team and played against the Jacksonville Jaguars. The situation has now gotten much worse, as Adam Schefter reported on Saturday.
A blood clot is a serious matter, they can be life threatening and have prematurely ended athletes’ careers in the past. A follow-up scan on October 14 after the Jaguars game showed the clot had moved, ruling Hurts out against Carolina. Schefter then shared a report on Sunday, confirming the worst fears of Eagles fans.
“After consultations with numerous doctors and experts that went into Saturday, the Eagles are placing quarterback Jalen Hurts on injured reserve,” he wrote. “The move will sideline Hurts indefinitely.” After reading this, fans naturally had a lot to say.

“Eagles have the worst medical staff in the history of the NFL,” one fan commented. “The fact that they knew he had a blood clot, put him on a plane to London and let him play a football game is unacceptable,” a second fan wrote. “Hopefully he heals up and can play soon,” another comment read.
“I’m quite worried. Gotta get his health right and prioritise that over everything else,” a fourth fan claimed. “I don’t care about the rest of the season, I just hope he’s okay,” said a fifth fan. “I am so mad at the Eagles, man. What were they thinking? Now the whole season is gone,” a sixth fan wrote.

Hurts will miss at least four games as the team determines the best course of treatment. Philadelphia has not set a return date for the quarterback, although they will likely want it to be as soon as possible. The fans want Hurts to feel healthy first though, which is always the most important thing.
