New England Patriots star wide receiver A.J. Brown has been cleared to return from the ankle injury that he suffered in the Week 1 game against the Seattle Seahawks.
So the three-time All-Pro will be on the field when the Patriots face off against the New York Jets on Sunday.
Brown returned to the practice field this week after going on injured reserve with a high ankle sprain. He has missed the previous four games. His return has been greatly anticipated for a Patriots team missing both of their trusted downfied targets, including Brown and Mack Hollins.
One of the biggest stories throughout training camp was the fast connection and chemistry Brown developed with third-year quarterback Drake Maye. However, the duo never had an opportunity to develop that connection even further in game situations.
They'll have a second crack at it on Sunday when the Patriots go head-to-head against a Jets defense that is ranked top-five in the NFL. This will be no pushover challenge for the Patriots, even with the game being held at Gillette Stadium.
With that said, Brown's mere presence should be a huge lift for an offense that seemingly finds a new hero receiver every week.
