And former Celtic defender Carl Starfelt will also miss a return to Parkhead too.
Celtic face the La Liga side on Thursday in the Europa League, with both clubs winless in their opening two games in the league phase of the competition.
But Celta have suffered a major setback after a training injury ruled out their star man Iglesias for the next six weeks, with Swedish international stopper Starfelt out too.
The 33-year-old was part of Spain's squad for their triumph in the USA this summer and the ex-Real Betis striker has won nine caps for his country.
He announced he no longer wished to be considered for Spain unless disgraced former Spanish Football Federation president Luis Rubiales resigned and returned when he left the association.
And Starfelt, who won five trophies in a two-year spell with the Hoops, will miss the game with a thigh injury.
Celta Vigo stated: "Borja has suffered a myotendinous rupture in the soleus muscle of his left leg, which will force him to miss the next six weeks of competition.
"His return is not expected until after the international break in November."
Another statement a fortnight ago, regarding Starfelt, read: "Carl Starfelt had an MRI scan following the international break and it revealed a muscle tear in the myotendinous junction of the semimembranosus muscle, affecting the proximal tendon of his right thigh."
Celta are also likely to be without Miguel Roman and Jones El-Abdellaoui.
