Oliver Bannister won the Hertfordshire Schools Scratch Rose Bowl at The Club at Mill Green.

The 16-year-old Bishop’s Stortford Golf Club member triumphed with a two-over-par total of 74 at the course near Welwyn Garden City.

Bannister, who is in Year 12 at Birchwood High School, played well on the bouncy fairways in wet conditions, registering four birdies.

He finished one shot clear of his nearest rivals, Darcy Eaton, Niam Patel and Marcis Karim, who all got 75.
