Bangladesh and West Indies will face each other in two Tests starting Wednesday, October 28. The opening game of the series will be played at the Shere Bangla National Stadium in Mirpur, while the second Test will commence on November 5 at Sylhet International Cricket Stadium in Sylhet.

Bangladesh are currently in fourth place in the World Test Championship points table for the 2025-27 cycle. With a PCT of 55.56 after six Tests, they are in the hunt for a WTC final berth. The West Indies, on the other hand, are languishing in eighth place with a PCT of 20.83 after playing 12 matches in this cycle so far. They are out of the race.

Bangladesh have recalled Taskin Ahmed for the opening Test of this series after resting him for the one-off Test vs Afghanistan. Litton Das, who missed the recently concluded tri-series against Afghanistan and Zimbabwe due to a hip injury, has also returned while Soumya Sarkar has been dropped.

The West Indies will miss Alzarri Joseph and Shai Hope. While Joseph has been withdrawn to manage his workload, Hope has been rested with the World Cup 2027 Qualifiers coming up soon. Keemo Paul, who initially replaced Joseph in the Test squad, has also returned home due to personal and family reasons. Shamar Springer replaced him. The West Indies have also called up 23-year-old batter Kevin Wickham for the first time.

The West Indies last toured Bangladesh in 2021 when they won the two-match Test series 2-0, and will be keen on repeating the heroics again.
